Robotics Short Story
The word robotics was derived from the word robot, which was introduced to the public by Czech writer Karel Čapek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots), which premiered in 1921.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word robotics was first used in print by Isaac Asimov, in his science fiction short story "Liar!", published in May 1941 in Astounding Science Fiction. Asimov was unaware that he was coining the term; since the science and technology of electrical devices is electronics, he assumed robotics already referred to the science and technology of robots. In some of Asimov's other works, he states that the first use of the word robotics was in his short story Runaround (Astounding Science Fiction, March 1942). However, the word robotics appears in "Liar!"

Seems interesting until you see the forward kinematics equations. What previous maths skill would be nessesary to better understand the tutorials.
I plan on majoring in robotics eventually, hopefully i won’t get lost in this lecture. Thanks.
Thank You
that was interesting . . . . . . . but a bit lenghty , i wish if he could enter to the main concepts fast . . .
Thanks Staford & thanks Prof. OSSAMA KHATTAB BIN LADEN
just kidding, prof Osama is from Egypt, and I am from Egypt too . . . .
. . . . . . . .
rofl robotics
@zrk9a
1. Yes, the course is free.
2. In the Google search box type: Oussama Khatib introduction to robotics. The first link will bring you to the complete course material for download at the bottom of the page.
3. In the playlist on right side of the present YouTube page there are 16 videos that can be watched. The videos are also available at the iTunes store (free) for download by typing: Introduction To Robotics (by Oussama Khatib), in the search box.
Is this course free? where can i download the notes he talked about?
where are the other courses?
I dont know If I could ever goto Stanford, I realy wish I could. This is awesome and very informative . . . thank you very much for uploading . . . . . . great work
you’re burnt dude
it can be better
Obviously you are just jealous.
Especially because of the superiour handwriting of those students who get accepted by these schools.
My girlfriend goes to Cambridge, guess what: Her parents are poor as hell, living in a small flat, she’s just high intelligence and self-motivation.
Cambridge supports students even when it comes to payment of living costs and acommodation.
The education is excellent and EVERY student gets supervision by elder students and professors.
Intro class should be basic as possible b/c u dont know every students level of knowledge, so it good to start with the very basic. Learning is the whole point of college
This introduction is really interesting with some important trends and experiences in Robotics. The lecture is not dificult to follow but it is useful for the beginner.
Crap sound, info a little too basic for even an introduction. Nice to show my 14-year old though.
Although I suppose it may help you avoid double negatives.
basicaullyyou dont hace no reason to pay a lot of money to stanford to get a good education. stanford as cambridge and harvard are shit places. the only reason why there so popular is because of the history of prof that went there. and harvard is full of rich people who control the world because there rich and only thats why. yes there maybe smart people at these colleges that because of the thinking that this colleges are the best. but ar not
Professor Ossama LOL
great lecture by a great professor.
he is awsome
Its really O. K. (Oussama Khatib). . . . . . . . . !
oh. . you”re boring. .
@Sergiuss555 –”stuff like dupree will not do anything???”
dude i do a lotta things. . i fuck fuck n FUCK all day n night!!!!! (:
You write stupid things, dude
the last time i checked, i was making 125k a year and getting whatever pussy i wanted. by making robots. go back to mcdonalds and get some more trailer trash women.
actually the stuff like dupree will not do anything. cause the only thing he likes is pussies. so he can be killed smoothly.
you’re wrong my friend, the one who studies, who s brain still works and knows beyond diggin tunnels, no robot can replace him cause robots do not think my friend, when robot replaces human in all hard physical works, human s gonna make new jobs that r going to be useful, thats the future
sir i want some information on memory management in robot operating system any book refrence or from any source coz i hav to do my project on that topic.
