<p><span id="more-1440"></span>The event, held annually in Singapore, recognizes the outstanding work of exponents in industrial segment. <strong>FRIDA</strong>, as it was called the conceptual robot, have the size of an average man and has a pair of arms and hands very similar to those of a human being, so it could replace an operator directly to their job.<br />
The robot was designed by the Business Unit Robotics engineering group global leader in power and automation technologies,<strong> ABB</strong>.</p>
<p>According to the company the android was designed to operate in areas ergonomically designed for human workers. However, &#8220;<strong>FRIDA</strong> was not created to replace the work of man, but to be the partner of a worker on an assembly line. Is revolutionizing the robotic work, &#8220;he stresses.<br />
The award is an internationally recognized quality, given by renowned professional and industrial design competition will present only the most prominent representatives of this discipline. But, despite all efforts, even the best artificial intelligence system is slightly larger than average intelligence cockroaches.</p>
<p>What is the problem? So far, all systems based on artificial intelligence software that works on the hardware has not changed. All changes to existing hardware to be done through software. But the development team from the University of Oslo (Oslo University) in Norway has taken a step which might form the basis of the next generation of hardware.</p>
<p><span id="more-1400"></span>Professor Jim Torresen and Kyrre Glette built a developing hardware (Evolvable Hardware &#8211; EHW), which uses genetic algorithms. In other words, they created a computer &#8220;hardware&#8221; that can evolve.</p>
<p>System Torres and Gletta genetic means is that the hardware design, which can be most effective to accomplish the task. In the real world may need 20-30 thousand generations before the biological system will find a great configuration for solving a particular problem, and it can take 8-9 hundreds thousands of years. The system created by the Norwegian team spends the same amount of generation for a few seconds.</p>
<p>Work on EHW systems began in the late 90s. Torres Team began using evolutionary algorithms in 2004, when they made a robot chicken &#8220;Henriette&#8221;. Robot using evolutionary principles in its software in order to learn how to do some action, without attempting to understand the world and create a solution through the use of artificial intelligence.</p>
<p>Robot &#8220;Henriette&#8221; trying to apply random changes in their actions corresponding to the problem, and choose the best of them. So, after finding the best, it is able to solve their specific problems. Thanks to &#8220;Henriette&#8221; is to better understanding how evolution works. Similarly, the evolution of system hardware to work for finding configuration that will be most effective in solving problems.<br />

Now the team wants to develop a robot to assist in the installation of oil pipes and other oilfield equipment at a depth of 2,000 meters. This depth makes it nearly impossible for a direct link with the robot. He should have 2-3 miles of wires extending behind it, or to transmit signals by means of the echo, which in turn will give a considerable delay between the command and its execution. Evolutionary robot could find a solution to problems encountered on site within a few seconds without operator intervention.</p>

Honda unveils new ASIMO robot based on their press release 8 November 2011. Having a further advance in autonomy, the all-new ASIMO can now continue moving without having getting controlled by an operator. <p><span id="more-1242"></span>With Advancement of intelligence capability technology, ASIMO became capable of responding to the movement of people and also the surrounding situations. For example, ASIMO will stop its current action and change its behavior to accommodate the intention of the other party. Moreover, coordination between visual and auditory sensors grants ASIMO to simultaneously recognize a face and voice, making it possible for ASIMO to identify the voices of a number of people who are speaking simultaneously, that is hard even for a human being to accomplish.</p>
<p>The new ASIMO robot performs much better movement with advancement in physical capability. The mixture of strengthened legs, an expanded range of leg movement and a newly developed control technology that enables ASIMO to change landing positions in the middle of a motion has enabled ASIMO to walk, run, run backward, hop on one leg or on two legs continuously. Because of acquiring the capability to provide such agile motions, ASIMO has become capable of more flexibly adapting to changing external scenarios to that it could, for example, walk over an uneven surface while keeping a stable posture.</p>
<p>The ASIMO robot also has improvement in task-performing capability. Honda has developed a really functional compact multi-fingered hand, which has a tactile sensor as well as a force sensor imbedded on the palm and in each finger, respectively, and which acts to control each finger independently. Combined using the object recognition technology based on visual and tactile senses, this multi-fingered hand enables the all-new ASIMO to conduct tasks with dexterity, like picking up a glass bottle and twisting off the cap, or holding a soft paper cup to pour a liquid without having squishing it.</p>

<p>Robot made by Hiroko Tanaka from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Isao Shimoyama from Capital University, Tokyo created similar to natural model. Their wings are designed  naturally, have a similar shape and structure.</p>
<p>As a robot model, the scientists chose the  Swallowtail butterfly family. This butterfly are ideal for their particular physical structure build: Their wings are larger compared to its body.</p>

<p>By using a robot that was filmed with high speed camera while flying, the researchers were able to verify that the swallowtail butterfly can actually fly with a very simple mechanism. Other butterflies, as their ratio of body weight to wing is unfavorable, must rely on more complex mechanisms in order to move in the air, such as changing the angle of the wing. Tanaka and Shimoyama want to find ways to  use this model for various aerodynamic systems.</p>
<p>Swallowtail butterfly, which includes among other local swallowtail, is one of the largest butterflies. Queen Alexandra Birdwing  family has the largest butterfly : The female can have a  about 25 cm wingspan.<br />
